Google Calendar

Flino can use your Google Calendar to check your availability (free/busy) when you respond to meeting proposals and to create events for follow-up calls. The calendar integration uses the same Google account as your Gmail mailbox — see Connect Gmail and Google.

Under Settings → Integrations you find the Google Calendar card (subtitle “Check appointment availability and create meetings”).

  • Status badges: Connected, Permission missing, Renewal required, Not connected.
  • Click Connect calendar or Reconnect Google if a permission is missing or has expired.

Because calendar and Gmail share the same Google account, the calendar permissions are granted in the same Google consent. If the calendar permission is missing, simply reconnect Google and approve it.

Under What can Flino do with your calendar? you see the two permissions:

  • Check free/busy (no event details visible) — Flino only sees whether a time slot is free or busy, never the titles or contents of your events.
  • Create events for follow-up calls — on your action, Flino adds an event to your calendar.

In-app note: “Your event details are never stored or read.”

When a customer proposes a meeting in their reply, Flino detects it in the reply composer, checks via free/busy whether the slot is free, and you create a calendar entry directly with Create event (optionally inviting the contact). For details on this flow, see Meeting card.

  • Events are created in your primary Google Calendar in the Europe/Berlin time zone.
  • Without the calendar permission, free/busy checks and event creation do not work — the card then shows Permission missing or Renewal required.
  • A Microsoft 365 calendar currently supports the free/busy check only (no event creation) — see Connect Microsoft 365.
