Connect Flino to your AI assistant (MCP)
With the AI connector, your AI assistant works directly with your Flino data: it reads offers, follow-up status, customer replies, contacts, companies, and pipeline metrics. You ask in plain language (“Which offers expire this week?”, “What did Müller reply to our offer?”), and the assistant gathers the matching data. Under the hood the connection uses the open MCP standard (Model Context Protocol).
By default, access is read-only. If your organisation turns on write access for external agents, the assistant can also carry out selected actions when you ask, for example pause a follow-up sequence, change the status of an offer, add a note, or submit a reply draft. It never sends emails itself: drafts wait in Flino for your approval. Every action runs under your account and is logged.
Available on Pro and Team. On the Free plan, the two cards are not visible in settings. Write access additionally requires AI actions to be available for your organisation.
Connect in 4 steps
Section titled “Connect in 4 steps”You find the AI connector card under Settings → Integrations. Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot are supported.
- Open the connector settings in your AI assistant and choose “Add custom connector”.
- Paste the connector URL from the card:
https://mcp.flino.io/mcp - Sign in with your Flino email address. You receive a sign-in code by email; no password needed.
- Enter the code. Done: the assistant can now read your Flino data.
Important: use exactly the email address your Flino account runs on. The sign-in code comes from an @flino.io address; check your spam folder if needed.

Fixed limits apply:
- Status: the assistant can only set New, Open, Sent, and Negotiating. You set Won, Lost, and Expired yourself in Flino.
- Emails: a reply draft always goes to the offer’s contact and is not sent. It lands under Approvals, and you get the notification “AI draft awaiting approval”. If you don’t decide within 72 hours, the draft expires.
- Starting sequences is not possible through the connector; you do that in Flino itself or via Ask Flino.
- Undo: pausing, resuming, postponing, status changes, notes, and drafts can be reverted. A permanently ended sequence cannot.
Turn on write access
Section titled “Turn on write access”You find the switch in the AI connector card, in the Write access for external agents section. It only appears if AI actions are available for your organisation. Only owners and admins of the organisation can change it.
- Click Enable.
- Flino shows you what external agents may do afterwards. Confirm with Understood, enable.
- Toast: “Write access for external agents enabled”. The section now reads “Active: external agents may control sequences, set statuses, add notes and submit email drafts for approval.”
The assistant can only write if the person who connected it is an owner or admin of the organisation. It receives write permission when signing in to the connector: if you turned the switch on after connecting and your assistant can still only read, disconnect the connector and connect it again.
Disable withdraws write access; from the next action on, the assistant only reads again.
Everything an external agent executed appears under Settings → Integrations → Agent actions with the external badge. There you can also revert reversible actions with Undo.
Download the skill: ready-made workflows for your assistant
Section titled “Download the skill: ready-made workflows for your assistant”On the card, under Skill for your AI assistant, you find downloads matching your assistant: Claude (ZIP) to upload as a skill, ChatGPT (Markdown) and Copilot (Markdown) to paste as instructions. The skill teaches your assistant these workflows:
- Morning briefing: new replies, due follow-ups, and offers expiring soon as a prioritized list
- Reply triage: replies grouped by classification, with a draft for your response
- Pipeline report: a management summary of your open offers
- Offer deep dive: the whole story of one offer in a few sentences, plus the next step
- Executing actions: only with write access; the assistant announces every action and asks before ending a sequence permanently
Access tokens for local AI tools
Section titled “Access tokens for local AI tools”For AI tools that run on your machine and have no connector dialog, there is a second card, AI assistant access (MCP):
- Click New token and give it a name (e.g. “Claude Desktop”).
- Under Expiry, choose 90 days or No expiry.
- Click Create token and copy it immediately: it is shown only once.
These tokens are always read-only (scope read); write access is only available through the AI connector. The card also shows the MCP endpoint and the required header (Authorization: Bearer <your-token>). You can revoke any token at any time in the same card; an assistant using it loses access immediately.
Privacy and limits
Section titled “Privacy and limits”- Clearly defined actions. When writing, the assistant can only trigger what is listed above, and only if your organisation turned it on. Everything else you still do yourself in Flino.
- Your organization only. Every access is bound to your account and your organization. If a user leaves the organization, their access becomes invalid immediately.
- Contact details stay behind. Email addresses, phone numbers, and postal addresses are never transferred to the assistant; contacts appear by name only. The connector does not hand out offer PDFs or notes on contacts either.
- One deliberate exception: the text of customer replies is provided to your assistant verbatim so it can summarize replies meaningfully. Keep that in mind when choosing your AI provider.
- Limits: 60 read requests and 10 write actions per minute per token. Every access is logged, without plain-text search terms.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Does this work with my Microsoft account? Yes. Sign-in always works via the email code sent to your Flino address, regardless of whether you log in to Flino with Google, Microsoft, or a password.
I do not see the cards. Check your plan: the AI connector is part of Pro and Team. On the Free plan the cards are hidden.
Can the assistant send emails or close offers? No. It can submit reply drafts that you review under Approvals and send yourself. You also set offers to Won or Lost yourself in Flino.
My assistant says it isn’t allowed to change anything. Then one of the requirements is missing: write access turned on in the card, AI actions available for your organisation, and you are an owner or admin of the organisation. If everything is in place, disconnect the connector and connect it again.
